Under a Wounded Sun explores the quiet, collective nature of grief—how sorrow can live within different people, take different forms, and yet feel strangely familiar. The six women stand apart, each carrying her own expression of pain, exhaustion, and stillness, while remaining bound together by an emotion they cannot escape.
Above them, the vivid red sun is deliberately wounded, its colour spilling downward like a silent fracture in an otherwise bright world. The contrast of deep blue, warm yellow, and bleeding red reflects the tension between what is beautiful on the outside and what remains heavy within.
Through distorted faces and suspended forms, the artist portrays a moment where grief becomes collective—not because the stories are the same, but because the feeling is.
