Rooted in the spiritual traditions of North Kerala, Theyyam represents a powerful encounter between the human and the divine. Its commanding gaze is believed to transcend the ordinary-to witness our prayers, grief, and unspoken stories.
Through this painting, I wanted to capture that sacred encounter: the feeling of standing before something greater than ourselves, where belief becomes surrender and the divine feels close enough to touch.
Sometimes, God does not remain above us.
