Kathakali has always fascinated me-not only for its striking colours, elaborate costumes, and larger-than-life expressions, but for the stories held within its eyes.
This painting is my way of capturing that gaze: a meeting point between performance, mythology, and memory. Behind the elaborate face lies something deeply human-a heritage shaped by stories, devotion, imagination, and generations of tradition.
Through this work, I wanted to preserve more than an image. I wanted to capture a feeling of belonging to something that existed long before us and continues to live through us.
