Detached Presence is a study of modern emotional exhaustion—the experience of being physically present while feeling distant from oneself and the world around us.
The fragmented face represents a sense of inner disconnection, where different emotions and parts of the self seem to exist separately. The contrasting colours and divided forms reflect the tension between outward presence and inward absence.
The tired, searching eyes suggest someone who continues to move through life while quietly trying to reconnect with a sense of self that feels distant. The face may appear assembled, but beneath it, the self is still searching for its way back.
Through this piece, the artist explores detachment, emotional fatigue, identity, and the quiet feeling of simply existing rather than truly experiencing life.
Present in form, absent in spirit.
